Project Overview

Applied Epi (www.appliedepi.org) is a leading provider of technical training to the public health workforce, worldwide. We need assistance creating a marketing and social media plan. Applied Epi offers MANY free resources and scholarships, but we need help telling our story to the world, and to potential funders.

We believe that our activities/resources below would be advertised through a robust marketing campaign:
-Announcing our scholarship opportunities for low-resource epidemiologists
-Highlighting the 50 chapters of our FREE Epidemiologist R Handbook (which is used 4000 times/daily)
-Highlighting our 8 FREE interactive tutorials (available in 3 languages)
-Highlighting the utility of our FREE Community Forum
-Highlighting FREE case studies on our website
-Highlighting the quality and dedication of our instructor team of 100 people worldwide
Applied Epi is growing rapidly and provides a massive amount of free, high-quality materials which have been very well received (even without out much marketing!) Some of our resources are used by 850,000 people, and others are used very little. We are also about to launch a large scholarship campaign for our live training courses. However, we have not had time or expertise to develop a structured plan for marketing and social media. Your assistance will inform the public and potential funders about training opportunities, and the incredible work this nonprofit has already done.
We have LinkedIn and Twitter accounts (4000 followers), and have been posting about once per week for the last year or two. Our idea is to increase our social media posts over the coming 3-4 months to acquire more followers, and then launch our scholarship announcements in January or February.
